back to Troubleshooting

The Clips won’t play, what’s wrong?

Old Clips on Gizmoz are streamed through Windows Media Player (new ones via Flash) so you need to have the correct version installed on your computer.

back to Troubleshooting

Why does the gag stop while I’m watching it?

If a gag doesn’t play continuously it may be due to your connection speed. We suggest a broadband connection for the best viewing experience.

back to Troubleshooting

Why can’t I hear the audio when I’m watching a Clip?

To make sure that you hear sound while watching Clips, please check the volume controls on your computer. Also, be sure to increase the volume on other conventional sound players on your computer. This may have an effect on your computer’s master volume levels.
Check to see if your system meets these requirements for running the Windows Media Player:

  •  Windows Media Player 5+
  •  IE 5.0+, Firefox 1.1+, or AOL Explorer 1.2+
  •  Broadband Internet connection

If your system meets all the requirements, but the sound still isn’t working properly, try playing any other sound device, with any other sound file.

Gizmoz Mobile Questions:

Why do I need to have a phone that has picture messaging or text messaging?

Gizmoz sends its content to wireless customers either through a picture message or a text message with a link.  Depending on the requirements of your carrier, you must have a picture messaging plan, or a text messaging plan and the ability to access the internet, in order to download Gizmoz content. If you don't have a subscription plan including text-messaging service, please contact your carrier and ask them to enable it. Picture messaging is only needed for Verizon Wireless customers at this time.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

Why is my carrier not supported?

In order to deliver content to your handset, we have to be integrated with your carrier.  We are constantly working to add new carriers to expand our coverage, but not all carriers are set up to support content downloads of this type.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

How do I know that my handset is supported?

We try to support all of the new handsets that are released. To check whether or not your handset is supported, you can send a test file to check that your phone is supported.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

How do I find out what my phone model is?

The first place to look is on your phone manual or original box. If you don’t have those, you can look behind the battery on the back of your phone. There will be a label with barcodes that should also list the model.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

Can I use the Gizmoz clip as a ringtone?

Not all handsets that support video, support using them as video ringtones.  To check whether or not your phone supports video ringtones, try downloading a test file and setting that file as your ringtone.  If you can set the test file as your ringtone, then you will be able to use your Gizmoz clips as ringtones as well.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

Why didn’t I receive my test file?

If you don’t receive anything from us at all, then the message was probably dropped.  Sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes for the message to make its way through the system.  Beyond that, you should double check that you entered your phone number correctly, and try resending the file.
If you receive a picture message, but the file won’t play, that means that your handset is not supported, and you shouldn’t try to order any files.
If you receive a text message with a link, but are unable to access the link, double check that you have a data plan with your carrier that allows you to access the internet.
If you receive a message saying that your handset is not supported, your handset is not supported, and you shouldn’t try to order any content.

back to Gizmoz Mobile Questions

I never received my download message. What happened?

Depending on the carrier service you use, you should have a subscription to one of the following data services: mMode, Media Mall or MediaNET, or T-Mobile Web. If you’re not on a message plan, or if you have used up the quantity that comes with your plan, you may incur high per-use fees by your carrier. If you aren’t sure what you have, you should ask your carrier.
Check to make sure that you didn’t receive the download message. Some phones have problems receiving the alert saying that it has arrived. Also, you may not have alerts turned on to notify you that a WAP push arrived.
Check your messages. Sometimes browser messages are stored in a different area than your text messages. You may have to sign into your browser to locate a browser inbox.
If you received the reminder that you have a file waiting to download,  you can select the GoTo option in the corner of your screen while this message is open and it will take you directly there.
